Future D. Fidel

Future D Fidel was born in eastern DRC. In 1996 during the civil war, he was forced to flee as an orphan stowaway to Tanzania. He tried desperately to trace his surviving family; he was finally reunited with his sister six years later. After eight years in a refugee camp, he now lives in Australia with his brother, sister and nephews.
He started working at La Boite Theatre Company as a playwright-in-residence from 2013 to 2015. Future’s award-winning debut play Prize Fighter has been featured in many festivals around Australia.
He’s now working with Malthouse Theatre to bring to life his new work La Belle Epoque, which is expected to hit the stage in 2020.
Future is also working on his full length feature film ” The Victim” which shines a light on the effect of Domestic Violence in Australia.
Not only does he hold a playwright title, but Future is also an Electrical Engineer, securing his Bachelor degree from Griffith University as well as a Gospel artist. His passion is to become an entertainer, whilst continuing to motivate young refugees to become the voices of their community.
