Grace Wilson

Grace Wilson is an emerging playwright from Gimuy, currently residing on Yuggera and Turrbal land in Meanjin. At the age of 17, she was shortlisted for the Queensland Theatre Young Playwrights’ Award for MY NAME IS TOMMY and won the award in the following year with her work GOODBYE, ELI ANDERSON. Grace has gone on to be a finalist in several other major awards including Sydney Theatre Company’s Patrick White Playwrights’ Award, Griffin Award, Queensland Writers Centre’s Stageable, shortlisted for the Martin-Lysicrates Prize and the Queensland and longlisted for the ATYP Senior Foundation Commission and Griffin Award Commission. Her performed/read works include MY NAME IS TOMMY, GOODBYE ELI ANDERSON, PALLAS SISTER RISING (theatrePUNKco), CALIFORNIA ORANGE STELLAR (KxT Bakehouse, Javeenbah Theatre Company), DOGHOLE (Vena Cava Productions, Underground Theatre Company, Sydney University Dramatic Society), PONY CLUB (Observatory Theatre), GIA OPHELIA (Sydney Fringe Festival) and VERY FINE PEOPLE (Queensland University of Technology). Grace has also undertaken several playwrighting training programs including Queensland Theatre’s Young Writers’ Ensemble, ATYP Fresh Ink Mentoring and National Studio, La Boite Assembly, Playlab’s Incubator and has been commissioned by Queensland University of Technology and Observatory Theatre.
