Stephen Davis

Born in Glasgow, Stephen was inspired to write by his grandfather, Alfred. Alfred wrote poems about his false teeth. Stephen’s first play, A Very Black Comedy Indeed was published when he was 15. Since then Blurred, Juice and Burnt have also been published. Stephen’s theatre commissioned work includes Drown (Queensland Theatre Company) Scar and Porn (La Boite) Turtle Island and Wet Dogs (Barking Gecko) Tranzitions, Juice and Blurred (Queensland University of Technology).

Three of Stephen’s Feature Film scripts have been produced: City Loop (1999) Blurred (nominated for an AFI for best-adapted screenplay 2002) and Monkey Puzzle (2007). Stephen’s TV credits include Spy Shop (ABC), Pirate Islands (Jonathan M Shiff), High Fliers (Southern Star), Crash Palace, Aquabats (FOX), Fairy Tale Police Department, Blinky Bill (Yoram Gross), Hoota And Snooz and Dog And Cat News (Blue Rocket).

Stephen has also worked as an in-house writer for April Films and as a script doctor and developer for 20th Century Fox in Sydney and in Los Angeles.

He’s currently writing for the internationally acclaimed blog Bored Olives.
