Needing to obtain the performance rights to a Playlab published playscript? Playlab Theatre can assist you in enquiring about the performance rights for any of our publications. Please complete this FORM and send to info@playlabtheatre.com.au. We will get you on track to having your next production off the page and onto the stage!

NOTE: Any performance or public reading of any text published by Playlab Theatre is not permitted unless a licence has been received from the author or the author’s agent. The purchase of a Playlab Theatre publication in no way gives the purchaser the right to perform the play in public, whether by means of a staged production or as a reading. Please direct all inquiries concerning performance rights, publication, translation or recording rights to the Playlab Theatre team.

Exceptions include: 

  1. Classroom Performance, where the audience is limited to staff and students taking part in the lesson/instruction. 
  2. Works out of copyright, please confirm with the Playlab Team whether this is the case for your chosen playscript.
If you wish to photocopy excerpts from a Playlab Theatre playscript, you need our written permission to do so. To obtain permission please contact us via info@playlabtheatre.com.au.
 
Exceptions include: 
 
1. Copying for Educational Purposes. An educational institution can copy up to one scene or 10% of a book, whichever is the greater, for its educational purposes provided that the educational institution has given a remuneration notice to Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) under the Act.

If you’re looking to obtain rehearsal copies or printed versions of our e-publications we can facilitate this through a Short Print Run. 

  • Short Print Run’s are special print runs arranged by Playlab Theatre. This service provides you with a professionally printed and bound hardcopy version of a digital publication that is posted directly to you. Estimated printing and delivery time is approx. 3 weeks.
