Hitchcock & Herrmann

by David Knijnenburg

Sometimes staying friends can be absolute murder!

David Knijnenburg‘s Hitchcock & Herrmann is an entertaining and engaging comedic tell-all of what the real-life working relationship between famous director and filmmaker, Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Herrmann, the score composer for many of Hitchcock’s hit films, was really like.

Hitchcock & Herrmann traces the decade-long collaborations between these two geniuses in an attempt to uncover why at the height of their creative talents they parted company and never worked together again. Through a chronological examination of their films, the highs and lows of their creative relationship is explored and further punctuated by excerpts from Herrmann’s scores.

Hitchcock and Herrmann was first produced by Darling You Were Marvellous Theatre Company premiering at 4MBS Performance Studio on March 4, 2005.
