The Monologue Collective is a collection of ten monologues written by teenagers for teenagers to perform in the HSC Drama Performance. Placing teenagers at the forefront of telling their own stories, ‘The Monologue Collective’ gives voice to teenagers and explores topics that our teens are passionate about. The collection includes stories of queer love, neurodiversity, toxic masculinity and meeting your crazy mum at schoolies. ‘The Monologue Collective’ highlighting the community, humour and humility of Australian young people.


The Monologue Collective was first performed at Kings Cross Theatre, Sydney on October 18th, 2022.

The Monologue Collective is a program created by Laneikka Denne in 2020 where ten teenage writers were commissioned to create 6-8 minute monologues for teenagers to perform.
