Aligned to the current QLD curriculum and practical skills development, our PD workshops are designed to unpack the conventions of form, style and structure, and the manipulation of the elements of drama across different genres.
The Theatre of Social Comment workshop focuses on Lewis Treston’s Follow Me Home recently published in our ATYP catalogue. Led by award-winning comic playwright and researcher Lewis Treston, this workshop explores the episodic structure of Lewis’ verbatim text, Follow Me Home and its core purpose of educating and informing school audiences on the issue of youth homelessness.
The Linear/Non-Linear workshop focuses on Playlab Theatre’s newest work, White China by Therese Collie. Led by playwright, Therese Collie and director/dramaturg, Ian Lawson, this narrative forms workshop explores the linear and non-linear form in Therese’s new play, White China and how this contributes to different ways of storytelling. The workshop will also focus on practical skills development in directing aligned to the text and thematic ideas in White China.
