Description

Combining the eerie Australian Gothic genre and the magic of screen media, Horizon is an engaging and immersive piece of cinematic theatre. Video Designer Nathan Sibthorpe will explore the devising and integration of media design in creative works. Exploring practical applications for teaching cinematic theatre, effective integration of media into live theatre and how to best utilise visual elements to aid narrative storytelling.

DRAMA

Unit 2: Reflect (Australian Gothic Theatre)

Students explore the power of drama to reflect lived experience, with the purposes of informing and challenging audiences, understanding, and empathising with the truth of others’ experiences, and chronicling/documenting and celebrating what it is to be human.

 

FILM, TELEVISION & NEW MEDIA

Unit 2: Story forms (Cinematic Theatre) 

Students investigate the ways in which story takes different forms in different contexts across moving-image media platforms. Students investigate the structure of story forms across a range of contexts and moving-image media platforms.

Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities
