OVERVIEW | RECALIBRATE

Recalibrate by Shock Therapy Arts is the commissioned text from Queensland Theatre’s 2025 edition of The Scene Project. Exploring themes of purpose, pressure, and the expectations placed on young people, this text was written specifically for secondary school students.

SYNOPSIS

Bailey, Ash, and Charlie are sick of being asked the same question: “What will you do when you finish school?” It’s 2025. It’s impossible to know what the future holds…isn’t it?
When the students attend a compulsory meeting in the Guidance Officer’s room, they are drawn to a mysterious box in the corner. Bailey, Ash, and Charlie find themselves on a wild, surreal adventure through multiple realities as they try to recalibrate and gain clarity about their futures.

PRODUCTION HISTORY

Queensland Theatre Company commissioned and originally presented Recalibrate in partnership with Shock Therapy Arts, as part of The Scene Project  (16 July 2025 | Diane Cilento Studio).
